City police have claimed to deal with another theft of heritage furniture designed by French architect Le Corbusier and his nephew Pierre Jenneart. The furniture was stolen from Le Corbusier Center, Sector 19, in September, 2015. Earlier, police had cracked theft of heritage furniture items, which were stolen from Government College of Arts, Sector 10, on January 19.

This case was solved on February 2. Chandigarh police officers said leads about the thieves including some women were got during the interrogation of earlier arrested gang members including two women, two scrap dealers and two drivers. Officers maintained this time arrested women are residing in the same locality as well, in which earlier arrested women thieves including Sweety and Shakila are residing. The scrap dealers Sunil and Faquir Chand are still lodged in Model Burail Jail.

In September, 2015, eight heritage chairs and two tables were stolen from the exhibition room of Le Corbusier Center, Sector 19. The gang members containing scrap dealers were found in the touch of a Mumbai based antique dealer, who is a frequent visitor of foreign countries and taking part in auctions.
