Fire Engulfed Lehigh Township Garage And Destroyed Six Vehicles

“This was a monstrous garage. By the time we got there, it was fully involved and collapsed,” Haggerty said. “It’s a total loss.”

Last Saturday night, fire engulfed a massive Lehigh Township garage and destroyed six vehicles parked inside, township fire officials said.

The fire broke out about 8 p.m. Saturday in what fire officials described as a four-bay pole barn at 976 S. Quince Rd., destroying the building and charring six vehicles, said John Haggerty, assistant township fire chief.

It took firefighters about four hours to extinguish the blaze. Aside from the building, also destroyed were two pickup trucks, a Chevy Camaro, a quarter midget race car and two all-terrain vehicles, Haggerty said.
